Four-star DeSoto quarterback Tristen Wallace released his current top 5 recently, naming Ohio State, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, and the Texas Longhorns as his five favorites at this juncture.
While the Longhorns already have one four-star in-state QB committed to the program (Arlington Lamar QB Shane Buechele), Wallace wouldn't be against adding himself to the mix in Austin.
“I love Texas. It’s a great school, and I really like the coaching staff,” Wallace said to Horns247 earlier this week. “Texas has a great environment, and I really like what Charlie Strong is doing. He’s turning Texas into an elite program that can get into the College Football Playoff.”
Wallace decommitted from Texas Tech in March, and said that he'd like to make a trip to the Forty Acres sometimes soon. He's not planning to commit until the spring, but such a visit would be just what Texas needs to pull ahead for good.
