Longhorns Recruiting News: After Big Win, Texas Lands Commitment From JUCO Lineman

The Texas Longhorns didn't just win a huge game when they defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday - they also won over coveted JUCO offensive tackle Tristan Nickelson.

Per Brian Davis of Statesman.com, "late Saturday, Navarro College offensive tackle Tristan Nickelson announced on his Twitter feed that he was switching his commitment to Texas from Iowa State. Nickelson is listed at 6 feet, 8.5 inches tall and 319 pounds, according to 247sports.com. He will have three years of eligibility remaining when he transfers this December."

Nickelson had originally committed to Iowa State last Monday. However, Nickelson was present at Royal-Memorial Stadium for Saturday's 33-16 Texas win and was seemingly swayed by what he saw from the entire Burnt Orange experience.

“The road to this point has been a long one, I have decided that I will be attending the University of Texas this spring!! #HookEm,” Nickelson tweeted last night. “Proud to be a member of the longhorn family! #HookEm #UT.”
