Longhorns Football News: Ohio State commit Demetrius Knox visiting Texas this weekend

In Longhorns football news today, it looks as if new Texas head coach Charlie Strong has another four-star recruit to meet with. It just so happens that this recruit is already committed to Ohio State.

Demetrius Knox, a 6'4", 300 pound offensive guard who is ranked as #5 amongst all offensive guards in the nation, originally committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in June of 2013. However, with new coach Charlie Strong bringing new life to the Longhorn brand, it looks like the US Army All American has had a change of heart.

Another team in the picture is the UCLA Bruins, whom Knox will visit next weekend. Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman paid a visit to Demetrius Knox five days ago to try and solidify his commitment to the Buckeyes, but it seems it was to no avail.

Knox has received offers from 18 other schools, including the national champion Florida State Seminoles and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite the interest these marquee schools have shown, the Longhorns, Bruins, and Buckeyes look to be the primary contenders to land the coveted offensive guard.
