'You never lose home': For Texas A&M's Gary Blair, induction into DISD Hall of Fame carries special significance

Nearly sixty years after Gary Blair grew up in Dallas, the memories are still fresh in his mind.

He still remembers the five driveways he once cleared during a pick-up baseball in Little Forest Hills, winning the city baseball championship at Higgins Field and his favorite date spots during his days at Bryan Adams High.

And those memories don't even include his coaching career at South Oak Cliff, where he won three girls basketball state championships in the 1970s.

All of those are what makes this weekend's hometown festivities so special. He returned to Dallas on for Friday's induction into the DISD Hall of Fame, which was established last year.
