Noel Mazzone recruited Josh Booty in 1999 when Booty was returning to football following his pro baseball career and Mazzone was offensive coordinator at Auburn. Booty chose LSU, but he two stayed in touch ever since.
With Mazzone at UCLA from 2012 through this season and Booty living in Southern California, they’ve been able to spend even more time together, including this weekend in Arizona at events surrounding the national championship game.
I spoke to Booty about Mazzone and what Aggie fans could expect from their new offensive coordinator.
“Noel is not scared, he’s not inclined to hold back and a lot of coordinators are,” Booty told me.
