COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M’s secondary, in particular at cornerback, has been one of the defense’s big questions entering the season. That’s why coach Kevin Sumlin’s evaluation one week into camp should be music to A&M fans’ ears.
Sumlin visited with the media on Monday night and said after watching video from Saturday’s scrimmage that was closed to the public and media, the secondary looks “very, very fast.” He said the defensive backs’ communication must improve over the next couple of weeks, and he anticipates that happening prior to the Aggies’ Sept. 5 opener against Arizona State in NRG Stadium.
