COLLEGE STATION -- If the Texas A&M safeties have any questions about their duties during any given week, they don't have to look far for counsel.
Luckily for them, A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko doubles as their position coach.
"If you have any questions, you can go to the head guy," A&M junior defensive back Keldrick Carper said after Monday's practice.
In Elko's second year on College Station, the defensive backs have a better feel for what Elko wants them to do. That could lead to an improved pass defense, an area that arguably needs the most improvement before the season starts next August.
