Texas A&M to receive more than $31 million in revenue distribution from SEC

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M’s “100-year decision” of entering the Southeastern Conference three years ago is paying big dividends for the Aggies – the actual financial kind.

The SEC on Friday announced a league-record $455.8 million in revenue, meaning its 14 members will receive a little more than $31 million in revenue distribution this year. When A&M exited the Big 12 for the SEC in 2012, then-A&M president R. Bowen Loftin dubbed the move a “100-year decision.”

A&M athletic director Eric Hyman said in a statement on Friday, “Texas A&M’s move to the Southeastern Conference in 2012 significantly changed the trajectory of our athletics program in terms of national visibility, enhanced revenues and conference stability.
