Texas A&M was counting on freshman Jay Bradford of Splendora to provide a quick change-of-pace at running back this season, but that suddenly appears in doubt because of a mysterious health issue with Bradford.
Rumors about Bradford’s health began appearing earlier in the week, and A&M coach Kevin Sumlin released a statement in response to reporters’ inquiries on Thursday.
“Jay Bradford had a medical condition arise this week and due to federal privacy regulations Texas A&M athletics is unable to comment without the consent of the young man or his family,” Sumlin said.
“The health and well-being of Jay is our utmost concern and we will do everything we can to assist Jay and his family through this process.
