Texas A&M midseason report, Part II: Defense making strides but has plenty of room for improvement

When John Chavis left LSU and headed to Texas A&M, it was a big moment for the future of the Aggie defense.

Prior to his arrival, the Aggies allowed more total yards than anyone in the Southeastern Conference. Texas A&M improved under its new defensive coordinator and showed it had the players to keep climbing in 2016.

So far, the A&M defense has made steady improvement while the No. 6 Aggies (6-0, 4-0 SEC) are off to their best start in 22 years. At one point during the first six games, people were calling the Aggies the 'Wrecking Crew,' the moniker for the great A&M defenses under R.
