The early signing period is a new addition to the recruiting calendar in 2017. It provides players that know where they’re going to go to make their verbal commitments binding, clearing the way for coaches and schools to have a better understanding of their needs before National Signing Day in February.
Jimbo Fisher has been relentless on the recruiting trail since he arrived in College Station. He’s already landed his first commitment, JUCO tight end Jace Sternberger, and has his eyes on some big name prospects in the 2018 class. Some of those will be taking their time to make their decision, making it all the more important for the Aggies to lock in as many members of their class prior to February.
