Texas A&M football loses another key defender for the Gator Bowl

Those watching the 2018 Gator Bowl might feel a little cheated knowing a few of the better players on each team will miss the game. Texas A&M football doesn’t have any players sitting out for the NFL Draft — like NC State — but they will unfortunately be missing two of their better defenders due to injury.

Otaro Alaka was reported as doubtful earlier in the week and isn’t expected to play due to a hand injury. Buddy Johnson will start in his place.

It was already a big blow for the Aggies. Alaka was arguably the team’s best defender, leading them in both tackles and tackles for loss, plus he had four sacks on the season.
