Texas A&M football: Jimbo Fisher wastes no time hiring offensive line coach

Jim Turner has been a major part of the Texas A&M football program in two different stints during the last decade. He spent a few seasons as Mike Sherman’s offensive line coach, and then returned to Kevin Sumlin’s staff after being let go by the Miami Dolphins. He was one of two coaches retained by Jimbo Fisher, which should tell you how much clout Turner has as an offensive line coach and recruiter.

Turner has decided to leave his post at Texas A&M to join Zac Taylor in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals. Taylor got his coaching career started as a graduate assistant with Texas A&M and Sherman (his father-in-law), and went to the Dolphins with Sherman and Turner in 2012.
