Texas A&M’s football program has always been in the spotlight thanks to being one of the bigger universities in Texas, a state where people like to joke that football is a religion. That’s not far from the truth.

Aggies care deeply about their football program, no matter what outsiders might say about us or the team. Sure, the team has rarely met lofty expectations, often set by high ranked recruiting classes or hot starts, but A&M has always been a nice job for a head coach. That was no more evident than when Jimbo Fisher left Florida State — where he had won a national title — to take over at A&M.
