As one would expect from the best overall conference top to bottom, the SEC is always full of good to great quarterbacks in any given season. 2018 was no different. Even though Kellen Mond showed drastic improvements for Texas A&M football and at times played like one of the best players in the conference, his numbers were pretty middle of the road due to the excellent play at the quarterback position.
He finished sixth in the SEC in passing yards in 2018. Of the five ahead of them, Drew Lock, Jordan Ta’amu and Kyle Schurmur are on NFL teams right now, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa is a Heisman favorite and almost lock first round pick, and South Carolina’s Jake Bentley has been getting NFL Draft buzz for a while now.
