For Texas A&M fans, this was the day that we’ve all been waiting for. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody that Haynes King won the starting quarterback job over Zach Calzada — it was practically set in stone. Still, learning that he’d be the first guy under center against Kent State will give fans a sense of security.
To give some context, King was Kellen Mond’s backup throughout the entirety of the 2020-21 season. Unfortunately for King, Mond was a stellar quarterback.
