Texas A&M fined $50K for fans rushing the field following 7OT win over LSU

COLLEGE STATION -- Rushing the field after a seven-overtime win is priceless for many fans, but it'll cost Texas A&M $50,000.

The Southeastern Conference fined Texas A&M for a violation of the league's access to competition area policy as fans stormed the field following the Aggies' wild 74-72 7OT win over LSU Saturday night at LSU, a game that lasted 4 hours and 53 minutes and was the highest scoring game in FBS history.

The fine will be paid for by the A&M athletic department and deposited into the SEC Post-Graduate Scholarship fund.

This is A&M's first offense under the league's current policy, as Aggie fans hadn't stormed the field as members of the SEC before, and the fine is the league minimum for first-time offenders.
