I don’t think anyone who watched Khris Middleton play for Texas A&M basketball would have thought he deserved to only be a second round pick. However, that ended up being his fate when he was selected No. 39 overall pick by the Detroit Pistons in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Injuries dropped Middleton’s stock down such that he fell out out of the first round. Had he been healthy in his final season as an Aggie, and taken the sort of leap you would expect a talented player like him to take, he may have even been a lottery pick.
