PORTSTEWART, Northern Ireland- Texas A&M golfer Maddie Szeryk qualified for match play in 112th Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship at Portstewart Golf Club, shooting a 1-under 72 in the second and final round of stroke play on Wednesday. A&M teammate Bianca Fabrizio finished the tournament with a 1-over 74 as well.
Szeryk is at 147 (+1) for the tournament after two rounds, and is tied for 25th after stroke play. Fabrizio finished at 152 (+6) and tied for 71st, just two strokes off of the final entrants in match play.
Leona Maguire, who plays her college golf for Duke, led the tournament with an 11-under 135 through two rounds on the par 72 / 6,262 yard course.
