Sherrington: In the '60s, Ken Norman's signature hook shot took him and A&M basketball a long way

Ken Norman, 9, posing at Buckner Orphans Home when the relatives that placed him there at age 2 visited him for the first time. The relatives brought him the cap he is wearing.

Ken Norman attended his 50th-year reunion at Texas A&M in 2015. While there he posed in front of a tribute to the 1963-64 Texas A&M basketball team that won A&M's first outright Southwest Conference championship in more than 40 years.

Ken Norman grew up in Buckner Orphans Home wondering when his mother was coming to get him. Christmases, summers, birthdays came and went, and still no one.
