When Texas A&M hired Jimbo Fisher last December, the spending didn't stop with his $75 million deal.
The university also gave a ton of money to Fisher's assistants. The Aggies were third in the country in total assistant pay, according to USA Today's annual survey of college football salaries released on Wednesday.
Based on the national outlet's calculations, A&M's total assistant pay was $6.79 million for its 10 assistants. Ohio State was first in the country at $7.3 million, while Clemson held a slight edge over the Aggies for second at $6.83 million.
