Report: Ohio State AD says Jimbo Fisher's 10-year $75 million contract with Texas A&M is 'so ridiculous'

Texas A&M made history when it signed Jimbo Fisher to the largest collective contract ever in college football worth $75 million for 10 years last December, a move that has received mixed reviews.

Ohio State's student newspaper, The Lantern, reported that Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith called Fisher's new contract "so ridiculous" at a Board of Trustees meeting last Thursday. Smith was comparing how much college coaches are currently making across the country when discussing potentially renewing Ohio State's head football coach Urban Meyer's contract, which expires in three years.

"I don't even put Texas A&M in our sphere because I'm considering Urban [Meyer]'s situation with three years left on his contract," Smith said in the article.
