MLB suspends Flower Mound, Texas A&M product for violation of drug policy

Major League Baseball on Friday hit Los Angeles Angels right-hander Andrew Vinson, of Flower Mound High School, with a 50-game suspension for violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Vinson had a second positive test for a drug of abuse. A third positive test would bring a 100-game suspension.

The Angels selected Vinson out of Texas A&M in the round of the 2016 draft. He was 9-11 with a 4.58 ERA in 114 1/3 innings in the Low-A Midwest League last season.
