Wednesday's news of Texas A&M's latest coach hiring wasn't as seismic as when Jimbo Fisher was wooed away from Florida State last December, but within the realm of college women's golf, it's a very big deal.
Andrea Gaston is leaving USC -- where in 22 years she won three national titles while building a perennial powerhouse, to come to Aggieland.
It's another coup for A&M athletic director Scott Woodward.
"Scott's got a big vision, with the facilities there and trying to get the best coaches in," Gaston told The News by phone Wednesday from Los Angeles.
