Two months after Texas A&M's capped its best season in five years, defensive coordinator Mike Elko made his relationship with the Aggies official.
After working without a formal contract for the entire season, Elko inked a deal with the university in February.
The contract meant a hefty raise for Elko that made him one of the highest-paid assistants in the country. It also came with an extension and a clause that could indefinitely keep him in College Station.
Each December, A&M has the option to extend Elko's contract by an additional season, according to a copy of the agreement obtained through an open records request.
