How Jimbo Fisher is still trying to fix an obstacle that plagued Texas A&M during the Kevin Sumlin era

COLLEGE STATION -- One of the biggest obstacles preventing Texas A&M from reaching its potential became apparent five games into Jimbo Fisher's coaching tenure.

After the Aggies beat Arkansas on Sept. 29, Fisher was agitated with the close margin of victory. A&M won, 24-17, but it allowed the Razorbacks to stick around after taking an early 17-0 lead.

Eventually, the inability to close teams out cost the Aggies a key victory. Last week, A&M collapsed at Auburn and allowed 14 unanswered points in a 28-24 defeat.

When Fisher agreed to a 10-year contract last December, he agreed to inherit the players from Kevin Sumlin's program.
