Texas A&M fans are well-acquainted with just how much their pass defense struggled down the stretch of 2024, with several teams deciding to pick on the Aggies downfield as a major part of their offensive game plan.
While there was not universal success in this strategy, there was definitely far too much success for coach Mike Elko's liking. It was this, in part, that led him to decide that he would be taking the reins of the defense for the 2025 season.
The Aggies haven't exactly played murderer's row so far this year— though they have a great challenge this Saturday when they travel to South Bend to take on Notre Dame— but so far, the pass defense has looked like it is improved.
