AUSTIN - The promises to fix the Texas defense came Monday.

The solutions will presumably follow in the two weeks before Texas opens Big 12 play at Oklahoma State on Oct. 1.

One way or another, head coach Charlie Strong pledged to be a big part of whatever happens.
