COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M freshman guard D.J. Hogg scored a game-high 20 points and six Aggies scored in double figures in A&M’s 104-64 victory over USC Upstate on Friday night in Reed Arena.
The Aggies possess a mix of experienced seniors and a highly-rated recruiting class, and the new combination was on prominent display from the start. Four of the newcomers, Hogg, Admon Gilder (16), Tyler Davis (16) and Elijah Thomas (11) combined for 63 of the Aggies’ 104 points.
Josh Cuthbertson led the Spartans with 15 points.
The crowd’s loudest roar came on an alley oop to Hogg from senior transfer point guard Anthony Collins, lifting A&M to an 89-54 lead with 6:12 remaining.
