Micheal Clemons watched at Sachse while other classmates celebrated national signing day in 2015.
A groin injury hampered the inexperienced defensive end and was a reason he didn't have much film to send to schools. He didn't even bother taking the SAT because he wasn't going to play college ball, he said.
Then Clemons said a friend told him about tryouts at Cisco College, a junior college west of Fort Worth. He made the team, and by his redshirt freshman season, teams started to show interest in him. Texas A&M was one of them.
"They didn't want me there," Clemons said, recalling the Aggies' sales pitch.
