COLLEGE STATION – Last year, Texas A&M played its first SEC game in its season opener, a 52-28 defeat of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. This year, the Aggies finally crank up conference action starting 6 p.m. Saturday against Arkansas in AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
A&M is 3-0 and No. 14 after starting the season unranked. Arkansas (1-2) has lost its last two games to Toledo and Texas Tech entering both team’s SEC opener.
“That was an overtime game last year (a 35-28 A&M victory) that took a lot out of our football team, and Arkansas took it and moved forward – and they were a really good football team at the end of the year,” A&M coach Kevin Sumlin said Tuesday.
