Alabama used one of Texas A&M's new favorite weapons against it

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- During the early stages of Jimbo Fisher’s coaching tenure, Texas A&M fans have enjoyed the renewed use of the tight ends.

But on Saturday afternoon, No. 1 Alabama was the team using that position to its advantage. The Crimson Tide targeted junior Irv Smith Jr. and senior Hale Hentges in key spots during its 45-23 victory over the No. 22 Aggies at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Both of Hentges’ catches were for touchdowns, while Smith caught four passes for 74 yards against A&M’s defense.

Smith had two of the nine Alabama completions that went for 20 yards for more.
