COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin told reporters he isn't much for self-reflection during the season, even on a bye week.
"I don't sit down and have a checklist every Monday about how much I've grown," Sumlin said Tuesday. "This job is consuming enough because it's not about me. It's about a lot of people."
However, Sumlin eventually admitted he takes time in the summer to ponder ways to improve, ways to change.
If Sumlin can show he's grown and learned from previous mistakes, it bodes well for his job security. Based on the way he's handled this year's quarterback dilemma and tried an approach to keep his players more rested, it appears he might be doing just that.
