National anthem protests
With the bevvy of national anthem protests in the NFL over the weekend, it can be an inescapable topic for some teams. In fact, athletes in other sports are speaking out and doing protests of their own.
Head coach Kevin Sumlin said his team talks about national issues, but this isn't one that's come up given the layout of the national anthem in college football.
"We didn't talk specifically about what's going on in the NFL because, to be honest with you, I've been doing this a long time; I can't remember a time when, as a college coach, we've been out for a national anthem," Sumlin said.
