Kazakhstan’s Yaroslava Shvedova is the first WTA player spending time in a quarantine, as one person from her March 12th flight from Moscow to Nur-Sultan has been diagnosed with coronavirus, leading to 53 people from the flight undergoing mandatory isolation in the Kazakh capital previously named Astana.
The 32-year-old Shvedova, who returned to the tour just a month ago after giving birth to twins Mirka and Stan in October 2018, was flying back home from the canceled BNP Paribas Open tournament.
The infected person on Shvedova’s flight was a woman who started the journey in Milan and she’s the first case of coronavirus infection registered in Nur-Sultan.
