World TeamTennis' Empire to Use Famed Forest Hills Site

NEW YORK — The New York Empire of World TeamTennis will use the famed Forest Hills Stadium as the site for its home matches.

The venerable stadium that once hosted the U.S. Open and Davis Cup matches has been configured to seat 2,500 for six home dates from July 31-Aug. 13. It is located on the grounds of the West Side Tennis Club, which first hosted the national championships in 1915. The stadium was built in 1923, the nation's first tennis stadium.

Andy Roddick will be the featured player for the Empire, which will be coached by Patrick McEnroe.
