Five-time champion Venus Williams joined 2015 runner-up Garbine Muguruza in the final of Wimbledon with a comprehensive victory over home favorite Johanna Konta.
The first set went with serve until its final stage, when the sixth-seeded Konta didn’t convert her two break points and Williams won eight of last nine points from 4-4 15-40 down to close it out on her second set point, as Konta’s backhand sailed a bit long. A bad scoreline only brought the best out of the 37-year-old Williams, as the American neutralized the mentioned break points with a backhand winner, a 106 mph second serve and a forehand winner.
