American Vania King was supposed to play her last tournament at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, but the COVID-19 pandemic made her retirement silent. I’d like to make a short recap of her career here and share some of her childhood photos that I’ve been collecting over the years.
Speaking to the WTA over the phone last week, the 31-year-old King laughed:
Yeah so, I think I’m retired now? I’m not sure? I don’t know, but like technically I’m retired?
Vania picked up a tennis racquet already at age four.
