Novak Djokovic has taken the first set, in a tiebreaker.
The defending champion wasn't perfect, but he leads Richard Gasquet 7-6 (2) Friday in the Wimbledon semifinals.
Gasquet surprisingly beat Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals, and he's doing well so far on Centre Court against Djokovic. The 21-set-seeded Frenchman was broken in his first service game, but bounced right back with a break of his own to get back on serve, using his devastating backhand to trouble the top-seeded Serb throughout the set.
Djokovic was too good in the tiebreaker, however.
