Tennis extends coronavirus suspension: No ATP and WTA Tours until August

Professional tennis on the ATP and WTA tours has been suspended until August because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The US Open, which takes place in New York at the end of August, remains pencilled in for that date.

All ATP tournaments in July have been suspended, including the Hamburg Open - a third-tier 500 level event.

WTA events in Bastas, Bucharest, Lausanne and Jurmala have been called off, with a similar event in Palermo on 20 July set to follow.

No professional tennis has been played since the end of February, with the French Open and Wimbledon among those events called off.
