WIMBLEDON, England — With rackets flying and crashing into bits, swear words screeching out and players hugging each other and ball boys, too, it was difficult to pinpoint the exact nature of the match between Nick Kyrgios and Richard Gasquet, other than to say it was lively.
It was a match in which both players were fined, and people who showed up to Court 2 expecting to see outbursts and petulant conduct from Kyrgios were not disappointed.
Kyrgios delivered plenty of invective and odd behavior during and after the match, but the man who obliterated his racket with an overhead smash against his chair and received the biggest fine was Gasquet, the victor.
