The 22-year-old American Sloane Stephens won the first WTA title of her career, overwhelming Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia, 6-1, 6-2, at the Citi Open in Washington. In the men’s final, second-seeded Kei Nishikori weathered 18 aces and rallied to beat the American John Isner, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, for his first Citi Open title. Nishikori, who earned his third title of the year, will move up to No. 4, from No. 5, in Monday’s rankings, equaling his career best.
