Jannik Sinner reached his eighth ATP final of the season with a 6-3 6-4 victory over Alex de Minaur in Vienna.
The Italian world number two took his unbeaten record to 12 wins against the Australian third seed as he claimed a fourth consecutive straight sets victory at the ATP 500 tournament.
Sinner was twice broken - once in each set - but battled his way through what he described as a "physical" encounter to set up a showdown against countryman Lorenzo Musetti or second seed Alexander Zverev in Sunday's final.
"I am happy how I handled it," said the top seed, who is aiming to add a fourth title of the season after wins at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and China Open.
