Just three days after losing the final of the US Open to teenager Bianca Andreescu, the 23-time Grand Slam champion picked up the pieces, transitioned from the court to the runway and continued to build her empire, this time by presenting the latest collection of her fashion label, S by Serena Williams at New York Fashion Week.
Williams’ first runway show as an independent designer attracted a number of celebrities — from her WTA colleagues Caroline Wozniacki and Marion Bartoli, to Kim Kardashian West, TV host Gayle King and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
