Former doubles world No.1 Sania Mirza of India pulled off a spectacular return to competitive tennis, winning the Hobart International doubles title in her first tournament since becoming a mother.
The 33-year-old, who gave birth to son Izhaan in October 2018, is now sending a powerful message to women that a professional outlet away from their home life can give them mental clarity and help them feel good about themselves, while it doesn’t mean that they are not good moms if they dedicate some time to other things:
I feel especially in the part of the world that I come from, when women have a kid or kids, it’s treated as kind of an end of their world, it’s all about the children.
