San Jose PHOTOS: Konta inflicts Serena’s most lopsided loss

Playing her first match since her runner-up finish at Wimbledon, sixth seed Serena Williams suffered the worst defeat of her career, falling to Johanna Konta 6-1 6-0 in the first round of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic in San Jose. Williams’ start of the US Open Series may not be a memorable one, but her long-sleeved red dress and fishnet tights will sure stay remembered in the history of women’s tennis fashion.

Our Jimmie48 is bringing us photos of Serena and Johanna, as well as coverage of other Tuesday’s first-round matches, including Timea Babos‘ 6-4 6-2 win over Kristina Mladenovic, fifth seed Mihaela Buzarnescu‘s three-set victory over Sachia Vickery, qualifier Amanda Anisimova‘s triumph over Wang Qiang, and Vera Lapko‘s upset of seventh seed Zhang Shuai.
