Pliskova beats Wozniacki, wins ninth WTA title in Eastbourne

Karolina Pliskova comfortably defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 6-4 in the final of the Aegon International Eastbourne, winning her ninth career title and third this season.

Wearing the Fila Lawn Racer Tank and the Lawn Skirt from one of Fila’s Wimbledon collections, the third-seeded Pliskova confidently built a 4-2 lead, with one break point turning out to be enough for the Czech to get ahead and win the first set. With Pliskova’s performance dropping on her own serve in the second set, the sixth-seeded Wozniacki earned as many as four break points to try to establish a 4-2 lead, but Pliskova saved them all and hit a huge ace to hold the crucial serve, finishing the match not long afterwards.
