After starting off the US hardcourt swing on the westcoast, the WTA is back in Canada for their annual visit north of the United States border.
The Canadian WTA Premier 5 tournament is somewhat of an anomaly in the WTA calendar as it is the only event that alternates locations between years as Montreal & Toronto switch back and forth on hosting the women and men’s side of the Rogers Cup.
After 2016’s visit to Montreal, the women are back in action in Toronto’s Aviva Centre, featuring a star-studded line-up that boasts all active top players aside from Maria Sharapova (injury), Victoria Azarenka (viral illness) & Serena Williams (pregnancy).
