Monday at the 2016 US Open was a day of major upsets as two young up and coming players ended the year's final grand slam run of two marquee WTA players.
WTA legend Venus Williams lost her fourth round match to Czech Republic's Karolina Pliskova. Pliskova overcame losing the first set and being unable to convert three match points in a thrilling three-setter to make her first-ever Grand Slam quarter-final.
In the evening session, young Croatian sensation Ana Konjuh continued her breakout US Open run by beating Agnieszka Radwanska in straight sets.
