Photos from the Australian Open: Qualifying Gets Underway

96 players have started their quest to make the first Grand Slam main draw of the new season in Melbourne on Thursday as the qualifying stage of the 2016 Australian Open is now underway.

While the qualifying players where fighting the surprisingly cold weather and a rain interruption, some of the tournament’s star players practiced in the comfort of the roofed-up arenas, including Maria Sharapova & Garbine Muguruza.
